Material Treatment and Supplying System for Automated Potting Applications
ViScaFeed is a material treatment and supplying system for use with the two-component ViscoDuo-VM dispenser in automated applications. Similar to the ViScaMix (for manual potting applications), the ViScaFeed comes from Scanmaster in Denmark.
While many of the features of ViScaMix were transferred to the ViScaFeed, the dosing pumps were replaced by the larger 3VMP18 to increase supply capacity. When increasing production numbers, the ViScaFeed can be integrated into an existing PLC of a robot or XYZ table. In this case, the system takes over both the treatment and the supply of the materials to be dispensed to the two-component dispenser, which is mounted directly on the gantry.

Spine Adhesive Consulting Service for Softcover Books and Magazines
The FullVision™ Equipment and Data-Analytics Consulting Service for bookbinding is an on-demand quality assurance tool for softcover book and magazine manufacturers. The digital platform for bindery quality control is designed to improve efficiency, optimize production, and control costs.
Deviation from the targeted spine adhesive application rate can go unnoticed for hours and result in waste accumulation, lost time, additional rework, and customer claims. Once installed on a bookbinding line, the FullVision web-based equipment gathers data on adhesive use and alerts the operator of an issue in real time.

Bio-Based Polyurethane Hot-Melt Adhesive for Consumer Electronics Assembly
LOCTITE® HHD 3544F is a bio-based polyurethane reactive (PUR) hot-melt adhesive designed for consumer electronics assembly. This is the company’s inaugural consumer electronics-specific, bio-based PUR hot-melt adhesive; approximately two-thirds of its content is sourced from renewable, plant-based feedstocks.
A one-part, moisture-cure material, LOCTITE HHD 3544F reportedly delivers a sustainable consumer electronics assembly alternative that provides many of the advantages associated with Henkel’s family of PUR hot melts. The bio-based formulation is compatible with a variety of substrates; aligns with high-volume production objectives; and integrates fluorescence for in-line automatic optical inspection (AOI).

Planetary Mixers Video
A new video features the three designs in the company’s suite of planetary mixer models. The video features an overview of the history and evolution of the planetary design, along with up-to-date footage of the stirring action in 4k video quality. The video shows the homogenization of a 40-gal batch of yellow and blue putty through a clear acrylic container, offering previously unavailable insight into mixing dynamics.

North American Market Report
Published once every three years, The Adhesive and Sealant Council’s “North American Adhesives and Sealants Market Report” features quantitative and qualitative market data in an easy-to-digest format. The report defines the current marketplace in volume and value and forecasts growth over a three-year period (2020-2023).
In addition, the report is harmonized with FEICA’s European Market Report and the Asia ARAC market study on segment market definitions. For user convenience, market data is organized similarly across adhesive and sealant technologies and end-use markets.
This year’s report also includes a new section focused on additive manufacturing (AM). Adhesives will become more important to incorporating AM components into assemblies and end products, and AM designers and adhesive R&D teams should collaborate to find suitable bonding solutions.
